CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- "Whatever it Takes." That's what's on the t-shirt, and that's the attitude Cabell Midland players are wearing going into the championship game.
The Cabell Midland High School football team is headed to the state championship game in Wheeling, W.Va., and the students and community lined up to support the Knights at a pep-rally Friday.
Cheerleaders, bands, fans and even the "Red Man Group" showed up to support the Midland Knights as they attempt to write a new page in the school's history book.
This is the first trip to the championship game for the Knights and players are excited about making history for the school.
"This is better than anything I've ever been a part of. To go up to Wheeling and play for the state championship it's great because it doesn't happen here often and I'm glad to be the first one," said Kasey Thomas, a Junior at Cabell Midland.
After the pep rally the players went through a quick practice then made their way to Wheeling.
