UPDATE 5/9/14 @ 3:45 p.m.
CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A 16-year-old student at Cabell Midland High School has been arrested and charged with three counts of terroristic threatening, according to Sheriff Tom McCcomas.

The charges are connected to a threat written on a boy's bathroom wall Friday morning at the school.

"We just took some additional security measures to ensure their safety while they were here today, but we tried to maintain a normal environment," said Cabell County Schools Communications Director, Jedd Flowers.

School officials say after the threat was discovered, Cabell County Deputies quickly responded to the school.

"We were notified by the school, the school notified the police, of course and we followed our plan just like we did yesterday, the same sort of response plan," Flowers said.

"This is a pretty good scare for them, I'm thankful for our law enforcement," said parent, Penny Running.

Flowers said deputies did not think this was a credible threat.

"It's kind of a shame that someone's got to be a copycat, we don't need this," said Running.

Flowers said extra deputies stayed at the school throughout the day Friday. Students continued classes on a normal schedule.

Flowers told WSAZ.com that deputies were reviewing security footage from the school to identify the person who wrote the threat in the bathroom.

Because the student is a juvenile, investigators are not releasing his name.

Thursday afternoon, a student at Huntington High School was arrested and charged after Huntington Police say she wrote a threat on a bathroom wall at that school.
