HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A convicted sex offender is back behind bars.
Michael Conn, 34, was arrested Thursday at his home on 4th Street in Huntington.
West Virginia State Police say he was picked up during a random sex offender verification check.
Conn is charged with five counts of failing to register as a sex offender.
Conn told our cameras after his arrest, "I didn't do anything wrong. I ain't trying to make nobody's jobs harder. I just want to have a life. All I want to do is have a life. I just want to live."
Trooper S.N. Swope said that the majority of sex offenders they deal with follow the rules and let them know when things change in their life, but there are some who try to bypass them.
"We like to be able to know where these people are at," Swope said. "We don't want to harass them, but at the same time, they have to be in compliance. They know what they have to do and they understand that."
Conn is being held on $125,000 bail.
Troopers say more charges are pending.
