HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Federal prosecutors say a Detroit drug courier, who arrived at the Huntington Greyhound Bus Station in possession of heroin, has been sentenced to 21 months in a federal prison.

Jalin Tyref McArn, 19, was sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court in Huntington.

In July, McArn pleaded guilty to possession of heroin with intent to distribute.

Prosecutors say in April, a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agent working undercover received a phone call from a Detroit drug supplier to arrange a heroin transaction. That same day, McArn, acting as a drug courier, arrived at the bus station in Huntington to complete the prearranged transaction.

As McArn left the bus station, he was approached by the undercover agent and following a brief conversation, McArn got into the undercover agent’s vehicle and indicated that he had heroin on him.

McArn also told the undercover agent that he would provide him with heroin as payment for the ride from the bus station.

Huntington Police then arrested McArn and seized approximately 15 grams of heroin that he had hidden on his person.
