Driver Says He Didn't See Woman Step Off Curb

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A woman is being treated for injuries after being hit by a car.

It happened at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 4500 block of Route 60.

Cabell County Sheriff Deputies told WSAZ.com that the woman, who hasn't been identified, stepped off the curb and into the path of a car.

The driver told deputies he didn't see her and stopped after he heard the impact.

According to deputies, she was tossed about 10 feet and landed on the pavement.

She was taken to Cabell-Huntington Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Her condition isn't available.

Deputies said although she hadn't been identified, they were told she lived at a nearby apartment.

Deputies told WSAZ.com charges will not be filed against the driver.
