UPDATE: Fire Reported at Apartment Building in Downtown Huntington

UPDATE 10/22/13 @ 1:21 p.m.
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A late morning fire damaged several apartments in a downtown Huntington apartment building Tuesday morning.

Firefighters were called to the Fifth Avenue Apartments about 11:45 a.m.

They tell WSAZ.com the fire was contained to a bedroom in a 2nd floor apartment. That apartment suffered both fire and water damage

Firefighters say the building’s sprinkler system activated and handled most of the fire.

Two other apartments had water damage.

The building was evacuated. There is no word on how the fire started.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Crews are on the scene of a fire at the Fifth Avenue Apartments in downtown Huntington.

Firefighters were called to the apartment building about 11:45 a.m.

It appears the fire is minor and was contained to a second floor apartment. The building was evacuated.

There are no reported injuries.
