Huntington police say a shooting call last Thursday night near the 1000 block of Hal Greer Boulevard appeared to be unfounded, but Monday detectives were back at the scene and found shell casings in the area and bullet holes in doors and windows.
No actual victim has been found.
Joseph Pniewski says he was sitting outside his apartment when he watched the incident unfold.
"An individual jumped out of a truck and came running down southbound on Hal Greer,” he said, “and shortly after that we heard gunshots. A young Caucasian boy came running up and turned eastbound on Doulton Avenue, and as he was running he dropped a butcher knife off on the side of the sidewalk. "
Detectives say they’re following up on leads.
