UPDATE: Collapsed Sewer Line Fixed; Hal Greer Paving Nearly Finished

UPDATE 8/8/12 @ 10:30 a.m.
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A collapsed sewer line on a portion of Hal Greer Boulevard that was being paved has been repaired, and now that paving project will be finished by early Wednesday afternoon.

The collapsed line was between 5th and 6th Avenue.

Crews first noticed the problem Tuesday when they went to repair a leaking water line under the pavement.

The state began paving Hal Greer Blvd. between 3rd Avenue and 7th Avenue on Monday.

The collapsed line delayed the paving in the area of the collapse.

A spokesperson for the paving company says the collapsed line was repaired when crews arrived for work Wednesday morning.

The four block paving project should be wrapped by early Wednesday afternoon, according to the contractor.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Crews continuing a paving project along Hal Greer Blvd. in Huntington were greeted with a surprise on Tuesday, a collapsed sewer line.

The collapsed line is between 5th and 6th Avenue.

Crews first noticed the problem when they went to repair a leaking water line under the pavement.

The Department of Highways says the City of Huntington is working to fix the problem. There is no word on the extent of the collapse and how long the repairs will take.

They say additional traffic control issues will be set up in the area, including placing message boards on I-64 prior to the Hal Greer exits.

State crews began paving the road between 3rd Avenue and 7th Avenue on Monday. The paving project was expected to wrap in a couple of days.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Drivers might want to avoid a portion of Hal Greer Blvd. in Huntington this week.

Crews started repaving the road between 3rd Avenue and 7th Avenue on Monday.

The work is expected to take most of the week.

During this time, drivers could face delays and congestion and are advised to use caution in the area.
