HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Huntington City Council on Monday night unanimously approved an ordinance to allow Huntington residents to vote whether the city should permit city employees to live within the city or not.
It has been a controversial issue in Huntington for many years. Under the current City Charter, only city employees who were hired prior to late October 2009 may live outside city limits.
Voters will have a chance to vote on the issue during the Nov. 6 general election.
