HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A rare Christmas Eve meeting most likely was Huntington City Council’s last.
Council met Monday night to address that issue, as well as take care of some other business.
Council members drafted an ordinance to prevent future Christmas Eve meetings by rescheduling for another day that week. The City Charter doesn’t currently recognize Christmas Eve as a legal holiday; the charter stipulates that council meet the second and fourth Mondays of each month.
In other business, Council approved the mayor’s and council members’ salaries, and new council members were sworn in.
