Huntington Police Officer Injured in Crash

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A Huntington Police officer was sent to the hospital when he and his motorcycle were hit by a car.

Dispatchers say it happened around 9:00a.m. Saturday at 8th St. and 5th Ave.

They say the officer was patrolling the street for the Bun Run 5k, when he and his motorcycle were hit by a car.

The officer's injuries were minor. He was taken to the hospital, and is expected to be okay.

Dispatchers say it is unclear what happened or why the driver crashed into the motorcycle.
