UPDATE: 5th Avenue Re-opens Following Fire at Huntington Plant

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) --Cabell County dispatchers tell WSAZ.com that the 2400 block of 5th Avenue is back open following a fire at the Flint Group Pigment plant.

The road had been shutdown since about 11 p.m. Wednesday.

Firefighters tell WSAZ.com a product inside a vessel in the plant caught fire. That fire was put out shortly before midnight, but firefighters say the situation was still "volatile."

There is no word on what caused the vessel to catch fire.

There were no injuries.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Fifth Avenue is closed late Wednesday night in the 2400 block due to an industrial fire inside the Flint Group Pigment plant, Huntington firefighters tell WSAZ.com.

The fire was reported about 11 p.m. Wednesday.

A product inside a vessel in the plant was ablaze, firefighters say. Smoke was showing when they arrived.

As of 11:40 p.m. Wednesday, the fire had been put out. Still, firefighters referred to it as a potentially volatile situation that they would continue to monitor.

They said they were in the process of unloading the product from the vessel.

No one was hurt.

Fifth Avenue remained closed just before midnight.
