WAYNE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- An interim Wayne County Schools superintendent was approved Tuesday night by Board of Education members.
The board approved a one-year contract for Lynn Hurt to serve as the interim superintendent.
Hurt said she's happy to help fill the gap until the right person for the job is found.
"I think anytime when you've worked for anyplace for 25 years, you want to make sure that if they need you, you are available," Hurt said.
The school board decided to wait until the new board is seated next month to resume looking for the permanent pick. That process is expected to begin around July 1.
