HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – The West Virginia Supreme Court has assigned two retired judges to replace Cabell County Circuit Court Judge David Pancake.
Pancake retired Friday after 16 years on the bench.
On Monday, Justices assigned Senior Status Judges James Holliday and John Hrko as the temporary replacements until Governor Tomblin appoints Pancake’s replacement.
Monday afternoon, the Governor's Office announced the opening will be placed on the 2014 Primary and General Election ballots.
A special filing period will run February 4 though February 17.
Holliday will hear cases from February 10-18. Hrko will hear cases starting on February 19.
Cabell County Circuit Court Judge Paul Farrell will hear Pancake's cases until the replacements start.
