Line Theft Knocked Out Phone Service in Milton

MILTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Phone and Internet service was knocked out to some 200 Frontier customers in the Milton area Saturday after a would-be lineman stole some 300 feet of telephone cable from utility poles.

Milton Police say the theft happened near the intersection of Route 60 and Morris Memorial Road.

Police say that Frontier estimated the cost of the line to be around $5,000.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call police or his or her local 911 agency.
