HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Police say they have arrested the man they say is responsible for setting a fire in an vacant apartment building in Huntington on Wednesday.
Thursday, Huntington Police Department charged Vinson R. Higginbotham, 27, with arson.
Officers say Higginbotham admitted to setting the fire in the apartment building in the 1300-block of Charleston Avenue during an interview with investigators.
A neighbor called 911 to report the fire Wednesday. It happened about 8 a.m.
Police say the fire was put out quickly, preventing further property damage to other nearby homes.
The criminal complaint says that Higginbotham was caught on a security camera outside the residence twice before the fire was reported.
Higginbotham lived next door to the building where the fire was set.
