BARBOURSVILLE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man from Barboursville recently was arrested for alleged threats against U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., and his family, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin.
Steven Anthony Major, 49, was arrested Friday. He allegedly made multiple calls to the Charleston, W.Va., and Washington, D.C. offices of Senator Manchin.
During the calls, Major identified himself and made violent threats targeting Senator Manchin and his family members, according to the criminal complaint.
If convicted, Major faces up to 10 years in prison.
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and West Virginia State Police.
