UPDATE 3/5/13 @ 6 p.m.
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man from Huntington arrested on child pornography possession charges in January, now faces additional federal charges.
Members of the Federal Cybercrimes Task Force arrested Raymond Eugene Leake, 34, at his home in the 1000-block of Monroe Avenue on January 13.
W.Va. State Polices said the investigation began as the result of Internet “chats” Leake was having with an undercover agent in another state in which Leake described sexually explicit activities to a person he believed was a minor child.
Investigators say he confessed.
Following the January arrest, Leake was charged with four counts of possessing child pornography.
On Tuesday, a federal court grand jury indicted Leake with attempted enticement of a minor to engage in sexual activity and distribution, receipt, and possession of child pornography.
The four-count indictment alleges that between December 24, 2012 and January 13, 2013, Leake attempted to persuade, induce, entice, and coerce a minor to engage in sexual activity. The indictment further alleges that on January 10, 2013, Leake received child pornography. Also, on January 13, 2013, Leake allegedly distributed child pornography.
Leake faces up to life in prison, a $1 million fine and lifetime supervised release if convicted of the federal charges.
