HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A Huntington man was charged with malicious wounding in connection with a stabbing that happened Thursday in Rotary Gardens in Huntington, according to criminal complaints from Cabell County Magistrate Court.
Michael Vernon Pinson Jr., 19, also was charged with battery and brandishing deadly weapons, both of which are misdemeanors. Malicious wounding, however, is a felony.
The incident happened after an argument between Pinson and two other men. One of the men was stabbed in his left arm with a large black knife. The extent of the injury, including if the victim required hospital treatment, was unknown.
According to the complaint, Pinson's father picked up the knife and threw it into a dumpster to dispose of it. The father also was charged with battery.
