HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A Michigan man has been sentenced to 16 months in federal prison for aiding and abetting the possession with intent to distribute heroin.
In March, Ralph Oliver Mayes Jr., 37, of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, pleaded guilty to the charge in U.S. District Court in Huntington.
In January, Barboursville Police arrested Mayes for obstructing, and possession of Vicodin tablets.
Following his arrest, Mayes was taken to the Barboursville Police Department where officers found two large bags containing 33 individually wrapped bags of heroin. Each bag contained approximately .1 gram of heroin.
Mayes told police that he intended to sell the heroin.
