HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- New details emerged Monday in the murder of a Huntington teen in front of his home last month.
Dylan Stone is charged in the death of Garrett Ray Hatten.
During Monday's preliminary hearing, witnesses testified that the shooting was over a $28 drug deal.
Hatten was killed June 23 outside his home along Jackson Avenue in West Huntington. But the disputed drug deal happened earlier that day, according to witnesses.
While Stone's attorneys say the shooting was accidental, witnesses told a different story Monday in court.
"It was kind of in the grass, and he has his hand on it," witness Amanda Saunders said, referring to a gun. "And he turned like this, put the gun in Garrett's chest and pulled the trigger."
Witnesses also testified Monday that Stone asked friends to wash out the blood from his clothes and the weapon after the deadly shooting.
