FAYETTE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A Fayette County man was arrested on drug charges after being pulled over for a traffic violation.
The Fayette County Sheriff's Office says a driver was pulled over on Route 60 in Smithers on Tuesday evening.
The deputy told the driver he was going to conduct a K-9 search and the driver, Alicia Conliffe, admitted she had a small quantity of marijuana on her.
Prior to the search, the passenger, Jeremy Louis Bufford, 34 of Smithers, was asked to step out of the vehicle. Deputies say he tried to hide something in his shoe. They found a baggie with more than 50 oxycodone pills in the shoe. They also found more than $1,500 in cash on him.
Bufford is charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
Conliffe was cited for no insurance and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
