Huntington Paving Projects to Affect Traffic

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Paving work on several major streets in downtown Huntington is to begin Wednesday morning, according to the City of Huntington.

Drivers are encouraged to avoid the following areas during the work.

Wednesday morning crews from the Division of Highways will begin milling Veterans Memorial Boulevard.

On Thursday they will move e to 5th Avenue between st Street to 10th Street

On Friday, milling will take place on 8th Street from 3rd Avenue to 5th Avenue. Paving of Veterans Memorial Boulevard is also set to start.

Parking will not be permitted on 5th Avenue from 1st Street to 10th Street ,and on 8th Street from 3rd Avenue to 5th Avenue during the work.

Weather permitting, the work will begin at 7 a.m. each morning and end about 7 p.m.

The paving is expected to be completed by next week.
