HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A woman has been taken to the hospital after witnesses say she was hit by a van Tuesday afternoon.
The accident happened just after 2 p.m. on Enslow Boulevard near 12th Street in Huntington.
Witnesses tell WSAZ.com the woman was walking on the sidewalk when the driver of a van, backing out of a driveway, hit her.
Firefighters tell WSAZ.com the woman was hit, but not run over. They do say she was lodged underneath the rear of the vehicle and they had to lift the van off the woman.
She has been taken to St. Mary's Medical Center with minor injuries.
The woman's name has not been released.
Huntington Police, Cabell County EMS and the Huntington Fire Department responded to the scene.
