Man Shot Several Times in Huntington; Police Search for Suspect

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Police are searching for man in connection with an early morning shooting in downtown Huntington

It happened in the 800 block of 4th Ave. around 3 a.m Sunday.

Police said they were called to the area on a fight, shots fired called.

They say no one was found when they arrived at the scene, but at about the same time, 31-year-old Asim Peterson had checked himself into St. Mary's Medical Center with gunshot wounds to his legs.

Polcie say Peterson told them he was near a bar when a man rode up on a bicycle and shot him.

He said the man had a stocky build, was wearing black clothing and look to be in his 20's.

Police said Peterson is in stable condition.
