HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- For some people in Cabell County it is day three without power. As of Thursday evening, 2,600 people were still waiting for electric to be restored.
Cabell County was one of the hardest hit counties with power outages from Tuesday’s storm.
Honeysuckle Lane on 5th Street hill has about a hundred homes, some of the last people in Cabell still in the dark.
Crews spent the afternoon working on a transformer, trying to restore power.
People in the neighborhood were doing what they could to keep cool.
Carolyn Gillispie said, for now, she just has to wait.
“Well, this house is all electric,” said Gillispie. “I can’t do anything.”
She spent the day in her garage, watching power crews go through the neighborhood.
Ralph Bentley was walking around the neighborhood trying to keep cool, because with no air conditioner, his house was getting warm. Something he’s not used to.
“The conveniences you forget about when you walk into a room, you hit the light switch and nothing happens,” said Bentley.
