HUNTINGTON W.Va., (WSAZ) -- While the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School has sparked rage across our nation, it’s also sparked random acts of kindness.

It’s trending on Twitter. The hashtags #20Acts and #26Acts are ways to honor the victims of the senseless shooting -- one act of kindness for each of the victim’s as a way to honor their memories.

Stories of people paying for the person in front of them in line, giving gloves to someone who is cold, and paying off layaway bills, or feeding a parking meter are just a few examples.

Seven-year-old Madison Bingham of Catlettsburg paid it forward to a student at her elementary school.

Her grandfather, Earl, won a gift card. He decided to give it to Madison. When he asked her where she wanted to spend it, she told him she wanted to donate it.

"Because other people don't have as much money as us," she explained.

Earl, who beams with pride when he talks about the gesture, took the gift card to Madison’s principal at Catlettsburg Elementary School. He asked the principal to give it to a student whose family she thought could use it. They don’t know, nor do they want to know, who it went to.
