HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The eastbound bridge into Guyandotte is closed on 5th Avenue Friday night because of sagging power lines, Huntington Fire Department crews on the scene tell a WSAZ.com crew.

The closure happened about 7:30 p.m. and was ongoing as crews awaited for an Appalachian Power crew to respond.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area. The bridge carries one-way eastbound traffic only.

Firefighters say it appears wind brought the lines down.

It is unknown how long the closure will last.
