HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A stormy Huntington City Council meeting erupted Monday night over the proposed storm water flooding ordinance.

It has been an issue that's divided members of council.

On Monday night, it nearly lead to fisticuffs between Councilman Dave Ball and former Councilman Tom McCallister -- a frequent combatant at meetings.

After things settled down, council referred the ordinance back to the city's Finance Committee.

Mayor Steve Williams said his work group will refine the plan immediately. Williams added that the street flooding work group will turn over its recommendations to the Finance Committee.

Williams said the work group is broad based, with representatives from Steel of West Virginia, St. Mary's Medical Center, Cabell Huntington Hospital, Marshall University, the Huntington Chamber of Commerce, District Labor Council, area churches and neighborhood organizations.
