HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A homeowner is out much more than a month's rent after her tenant left, taking everything of value with him.
As it turns out, he's accused of a few other crimes.
Donna Riddle rented a house on Olive Street in Huntington to Daniel Price,28, and his wife in August.
Not only did he not pay rent, Donna says he stole nearly $8,000 worth of appliances, including a stove, refrigerator, and hot water tank.
"He even took the ceiling fan," she said.
"We don't have the kind of money to put this thing back together," Donna's husband Ralph Riddle said.
Huntington Police arrested Price Monday and charged him with Grand Larceny. He's also charged with battery and transferring and receiving stolen property in separate incidents.
According to the criminal complaint, Price stole a TV from a home along Piedmont Road in Wayne County in July and sold it to his brother.
Another complaint says Price confronted a man at Marcum Terrace in July. Price allegedly hit the man, knocking him to the ground, and then kicked him twice in the ribs.
The Riddles are now hoping Price learns something in his new living arrangements.
"I hope he serves as much time as they can give him,” Donna said. “Maybe it will teach him something, maybe dry him out a little."
Price could face up to 21 years in prison if convicted of all the charges.. His preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 11.
The Riddles say they are going to fix that house up and rent it again.
