The Tri-State Celebrates Veterans Day

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Many celebrations across the nation will be celebrating and honoring our country’s veterans Monday, but here's some across the tri-state.

• The Charleston Veterans Day Parade begins at 10 a.m. and will be followed by a ceremony at the Haddad Riverfront Park.

• The City of Huntington Veterans Day Parade starts at 10 a.m. on the West End followed by a ceremony at the Memorial Arch.

• Re-dedication of the Veteran’s Memorial Monument in Olive Hill. It is being held by the American Legion and City of Olive Hill and will begin at noon.

• Ashland’s Paul G. Blazer High School Veterans Day Assembly will be held in the gym at 9:30 a.m.

• Community Hospice Center Veterans Day Ceremony will honor veterans at the Ashland Community Hospice Center at 11 a.m.

• The Johnson County Veterans Day event will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the second floor courtroom of the Johnson County courthouse.

• Boone Memorial Hospital is sponsoring a drive-through flu shot clinic and Veterans Day tribute. Veterans can get free flu shots beginning at 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Madison Funeral Home.

• The Boyd County Veterans Day Observance will begin at 11 a.m. at Armco Park on US60.

• Panera Bread restaurants will serve free lunch to active military personnel and veterans all day.

• Texas Roadhouse restaurants will serve free lunch to active military personnel and veterans all day.

• The 2013 VeteranExpo Career and Information Fair will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday November 12th and will last until 2 p.m. at the Portsmouth, OH Amercan Legion Post 23.
