Thieves Target Two Delivery Trucks Outside Huntington Store

Updated: Wed 8:42 PM, Jun 20, 2012

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- An investigation is now underway in Huntington after at least two people stole hundreds of dollars worth of cigarettes and several cases of beer from two delivery trucks outside of the Olive Street Market.

It happened Tuesday morning, and just one day later, the store's owner is still steaming.

"It's very disturbing, really," Fadi Haikal said. "You just have to live with it."

Judging by the surveillance video, Haikal believes the suspects knew what they wanted and simply went for it.

"It seems like it was planned," Haikal said. "They waited until the (delivery) guy comes in, and just did their thing and went on with their business."

The store's surveillance video shows at least two people waiting for the delivery drivers to go inside the store before they make their move.

"They were delivering, and as they were counting the stuff in the store, (the suspects) got into their trucks and took their stuff," Haikal said. "They put the stuff in the van and they took off."

According to the police report, the suspects were able to get away with 90 boxes of cigarettes worth nearly $900, and at least two cases of beer. But Haikal says he's even more shocked that the men spoke with the beer delivery man before committing the crime.

"They were so friendly to him," Haikal said. "They even introduced themselves."

Now, Haikal hopes someone will be able to identify the suspects, and they can be brought to justice.

"I hope they catch them," Haikal said. "I hope they get them and they rot in jail."

If you have any information about the robbery, or the suspects, you're urged to call Huntington Police.
