UPDATE 8/23/13 @ 8:35 p.m.
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The westbound lanes of Interstate 64 have reopened Friday night in the area where a tractor-trailer went over a hillside earlier in the evening, Cabell County 911 dispatchers say.
The driver was taken to the hospital as a precaution, but it appears he did not suffer serious injuries, police at the scene said.
The crash was reported about 5 p.m. and affected westbound traffic between the 29th Street exit and the Hal Greer Boulevard exit. That area is currently under construction on both the eastbound and westbound sides.
They say traffic is backed up for miles.
A tractor-trailer went over a hill in that area about 5 p.m. Friday. As it crashed, it took out about 50 feet of guardrail.
There is no word on injuries.
The lanes could be closed as long as two more hours.
We have a crew at the scene.
