HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Huntington Police arrested a man Thursday after receiving 18 tips about drug activity at his home.

The Huntington Police Department Special Emphasis Unit executed a search warrant in the 1300-block of 10th Avenue Thursday.

The HPD SWAT Team was used to get into the home. A K9 was also on scene to search for drugs.

During the search, detectives found one ounce of crack cocaine, a small amount of marijuana, two sets of scales for weighing drugs, and $600 in cash.

Huntington Police say James Monroe Washington, 41, who lives in the home, was charged with felony delivery of a controlled substance, felony possession with intent, and arrested on a felony indictment through Cabell County Circuit Court.

Amanda P. Gordon, 24, of Huntington, was charged with felony possession with intent and arrested on a misdemeanor warrant for destruction of property.

Seven other people were detained at the scene but released.

Huntington Police say a nuisance letter will be mailed to the property owner to inform them of the illegal activity and to ensure compliance with the City Ordinance for Nuisance Property.

Also, due to reported unsanitary living conditions, a complaint was forwarded to the Huntington Code Enforcement office for a follow-up investigation and a compliance check.

The Huntington Police Department encourages anyone with information regarding drug or criminal activity to call the tipline at 304-696-4444.
