Two Wounded in Early Morning Shooting In Huntington

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Two people are in the hospital following an early morning shooting in Huntington.

Huntington Police were called to the 1800 block of Artisan Avenue right before 1 a.m. Sunday on a shots fired call.

Lt. John Williams says the two victims, Dwight Waldon, 60, and Tayvon Gaulds, 19, both of Huntington had gunshot wounds to the lower extremities. Each is expected to recover from their wounds.

Williams says the two went to the hospital in private vehicles.

Police say approximately 10 shots were fired during the incident, and that several homes and one vehicle had bullet damage. He also says the victims could not provide much information to investigators.

Williams says the suspect, a man, was wearing all black and a mask covering his face.
