HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- About a dozen little water fountains have popped up out of the road.

A water line break at 7th Street and 5th Ave. in Huntington has closed 7th Street as crews try to locate the break.

Tim Witten works at a car wash on 7th Street and said the water just started coming up from everywhere.

"All of a sudden water just shot up about 15 feet in the air right there then it started over this way coming out there and continued to come out several different holes," Witten said.

West Virginia American Water has shut off the water in that area and are looking for where the line is broken.

According to Laura Jordan with WVAM, a 6-inch line that is over 100-years-old broke. About 50 customers are without water due to the break.

Jordan tells WSAZ.com that the water should be back on in four to six hours. Once the water service has been restored, those customers without water now will be under a boil water advisory.
