Wreck Near Barboursville Sends Man to Hospital; Another Arrested for DUI

BARBOURSVILLE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- One man was taken to the hospital, and another man was arrested Monday evening on a DUI charge after a head-on collision.

The accident happened at the intersection of U.S. 60 and Alternate W.Va. 10.

According to Barboursville Police, the driver of a Chevrolet Impala was attempting to turn left onto Alternate Route 10 from the westbound lanes of U.S. 60 when it collided with an Oldsmobile Alero that was headed eastbound.

The driver of the Oldsmobile fled on foot but was caught and charged with DUI.

The driver of the Chevrolet was taken to the hospital, but his injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

The wreck was reported about 6:45 p.m. Monday. The roadway was closed briefly during the investigation and cleanup.
