Dispatchers say all lanes of I-64 are back open following a fatal crash near Olive Hill.
The road reopened early Saturday morning.
Mary R. Logan, 53, of Vanceburg, Ky., was pronounced dead at the scene by the Carter County coroner, according to a Kentucky State Police news release.
Logan was driving a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am when it appear she lost control on wet roads, struck a guardrail and then veered back into the path of a tractor-trailer. She was not wearing a seat belt.
The accident happened about 2:30 p.m. Friday near mile-marker 159. The tractor-trailer driver was not hurt.
As of 11 p.m. Friday, the eastbound lanes remained closed.
Kentucky State Police tells WSAZ.com that one person has died in the accident.
A tractor-trailer and a car collided at mile marker 159, according to KSP. The crash was reported about 2:30 p.m. Friday.
As of 11 p.m. Friday, the eastbound lanes remained closed in that area as investigators assessed the scene and worked to clear the accident.
The tractor-trailer is actually off of the interstate as a result of the crash.
Traffic is being diverted off of the interstate at mile marker 156, onto Route 60 and back onto I-64 at mile marker 161.
