LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -- More than 2,000 people laid off from coal mines and factories in eastern Kentucky will have a chance to find out about job training and benefits at two events in the region.
The benefits fairs are scheduled for Tuesday, August 28 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Mountain Arts Center in Prestonsburg, and Sept. 10 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the East Kentucky Expo Center in Pikeville.
They were organized by the Eastern Kentucky Concentrated Employment Program.
