ASHLAND, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A new restaurant could soon be coming to Ashland's riverfront.
City Commissioner Kevin Gunderson says the city is discussing the possibility of bringing the Star of Louisville to Ashland.
Gunderson tells WSAZ.com that the city has been pursuing a floating restaurant for several years and that city officials have made several trips to tour the Star of Louisville.
Gunderson says they will discuss bringing the yacht permanently to the riverfront at Thursday's Board of Commissioners meeting.
He tells WSAZ.com that it appears the city backs the idea of bringing the Star of Louisville to Ashland, but there are some upgrades that will have to happen first. These include water and sewer access and those both will have to be voted on.
According to the Pinnacle Marine website, the Star of Louisville has a 500 passenger capacity, seats nearly 250 for dining and has three beverage bars.
