RUSSELL, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Residents in Russell, Ky. will vote in September whether to allow alcohol sales in the city.
Greenup County Judge Executive, Bobby Carpenter tells WSAZ.com the wet-dry vote will take place September, 23 in the city’s three precincts.
He says the local Kroger was behind a petition drive that led to the special election.
Carpenter says a petition with more than 800 names was submitted to his office earlier this week. 451 verified names were needed to put the issue on the ballot.
A wet-dry vote was held for all of Greenup County failed to pass back in January.
