ASHLAND, Ky. (WSAZ) -- An elderly woman was air-lifted to the hospital after being hit by a car in a grocery store parking lot in Ashland.
The accident happened at the Kroger on MLK Jr. Boulevard about 2 p.m. Tuesday.
A witness tells WSAZ.com that the woman lost her balance and fell after leaving the store. She was then hit by a driver going through the parking lot.
We're told the woman was pinned under the car. Once emergency crews got her out, she was air-lifted to a hospital in Huntington.
No word on the extent of the woman's injuries, but a witness tells WSAZ.com that the woman's arm and shoulder were run over in the the accident.
Polcie identified the woman as 84-year-old Ruth Martin and said she had serious injuries.
Witnesses say the driver of the car was also a senior citizen.
