Driver Arrested Following Police Chase Down U.S. 23

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A Florida man is now in jail after leading Kentucky State Police on an eight-mile chase down U.S. 23.
Troopers say they received a call on Thursday about s possible DUI driver on U.S. 23. As they approached the vehicle, troopers say the driver accelerated and took off.
About eight miles later, when the suspect approached another cruiser, the driver lost control and crashed into a ditch.
Troopers say Gary Fletcher, 30, of Jacksonville, Fla., and his three passengers, jumped out and took off on foot.
All four people were later located in the area.
Fletcher was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence and fleeing or evading police.
No word if the passengers will be charged.
