Husband and Wife Charged in Connection with Break-Ins

LEWIS COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A husband and wife are facing charges in connection with several break-ins.

According to a release from the Lewis County Sheriff, Gerald Butler, 38, and Heidi Butler, 36, were arrested Wednesday evening while walking down KY 59 in the Camp Dix area.

The Butlers were wanted in connection with about 5 home break-ins in the Laurel area of Kentucky. According to the release, Sheriff Johnny Bivens spotted the two walking down the road, confronted the couple and then placed them under arrest.

According to the release, the Butlers were found to be carrying 10.5 ounces of marijuana which was held in six individual baggies and hypodermic needles.

"These folks have terrorized the neighborhood," Said Sheriff Bivens.

The Butlers are being charged with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, trafficking in marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Gerald and Heidi are both being held in the Lewis County Detention Center.
