PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A Pike County man will be back in court next week after being indicted for murder.

Kentucky State Police say Gregory Todd Martin, 32, of Elkhorn City, was found dead at a home along Harless Creek Road in Regina on November 22.

Troopers arrested Ervin J. Smallwood, 35, of Regina, and charged him with the murder.

A Pike County Grand Jury indicted Smallwood on the charge last week.

According to the indictment, Smallwood “beat and suffocated” Martin, causing his death.

A published report says Smallwood may have used a pillow to suffocate Martin.

Smallwood will be arraigned on the charge December 11, according to court records.

Investigators have still not released a motive for the murder.
