FRANKFORT, Ky (WSAZ) -- In an effort to uncover voter fraud, six Kentucky counties will undergo independent inquiries by the Office of the Attorney General.

Those counties are:

  • Grayson
  • Bracken
  • Johnson
  • Lewis
  • Bath
  • Bourbon.

According to a press release from Attorney General Jack Conway's Office, each county's election forms will be checked and county officials will be interviewed.

All six counties were chosen at random in a public drawing and do not imply that any irregularities are suspected.

The Kentucky Attorney General says it's required to conduct a post-election audit investigation in at least five percent of Kentucky's counties following each primary and general election.

In addition to the post-election audit, complaints to the Election Fraud Hotline are still being investigated. The Hotline received 235 complaints during the General Election.

The Attorney General's office says details of those complaints will be released once the review is complete.
