SHELBIANA, Ky. (WSAZ) - Dozens gathered at Shelby Valley High School in Pike County, Ky. on Wednesday to celebrate the accomplishments of one of their own.
The name, Josh Osborne, will now greet drivers passing by "Country Music Highway" signs all across Pike County.
Everyone from former teachers to state and local officials reminisced about Osborne before presenting him with an honor he said he never expected.
The songwriter, best known for his work on the Gammy Award winning song "Merry-Go-Round" by Kacey Musgraves, says he feels like his dream has finally come full circle.
"The Country Music Highway literally and figuratively took me to Nashville because it the music itself made me want to write country music and then I had to get on 23 to get to Nashville. So really it just means everything," y music and then I had to get on 23 to get to Nashville. So really it just means everything,” said Osborne.
