UPDATE: Missing Woman Found Safe

ASHLAND, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A woman who had been reported missing by her family has been found safe.

Major Mark McDowell with the Ashland Police says Ruth O'Brien, 69, was found in the emergency room waiting area at KDMC Tuesday morning.

McDowell says Ms. O'Brien was unharmed and returned home to her family.

O'Brien last had contact with family members around 9 p.m. Sunday night. She was reported missing about midnight.

ASHLAND, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Police in Ashland say they are concerned about the welfare of a missing woman.

Major Mark McDowell says Ruth O’Brien, 69, last had contact with family members around 9 p.m. Sunday night. She was reported missing about midnight.

Major McDowell says this out of character for O’Brien. He also tells WSAZ.com that she left a note for husband.

McDowell says no vehicle is involved in her disappearance.

O'Brien is 5 foot, 110 pounds, and has brown hair and green eyes.

She was apparently last seen in the area around Grandview Drive and Crum Street in Ashland.
