PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Police in Prestonsburg have arrested a man they say is responsible for dozens of car break-ins in Floyd County.
Police say they arrested David Crace when he arrived at a probation/parole hearing Thursday morning.
Investigators believe Crace broke into at least 30 cars in recent weeks. Most of the break-ins occurred at businesses in town and several at high school football games.
"They started about a month, month-and-a-half ago," said Detective Adam Dixon.
Police think Crace was either using remotes to unlock the cars or cutting master keys.
Police say they recently got surveillance images that show a man using one of the debit cards that was reported stolen.
"We actually have him on video and got a positive ID," said Assistant Police Chief Bryan Hall.
Police also say Crace is no stranger to this kind of crime, and that he has been behind bars for the same thing more than once.
Crace is being held in the Floyd County Detention Center.
