MARTIN COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A prisoner who escaped from the Martin County Jailer on his way to jail has been captured.
Martin County Sheriff Garmin Preece tells WSAZ.com that deputies re-arrested Sean Keller, 26, of Martin County, at a residence in Milo about 7:20 Monday morning.
Sheriff Preece says that Keller escaped from the Jailer about 1 a.m. Monday as he was being transported to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Johnson County.
Keller was originally arrested by Martin County Deputies about 10 p.m. Sunday on five outstanding warrants that included assault, possession and bail jumping.
Preece say that while Keller was being taken to jail, he started complaining that he was ill, possibly having a heart attack. It was when the Jailer stopped the van to check on him, that Preece says Keller escaped. He was handcuffed at the time.
The Sherriff says Keller now faces additional charges that include assault on a police officer, escape and menacing.
Keller is now being held in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
